McLaren to race without BAT logo

14 Mar 2019. Formula One team McLaren has removed the controversial British American Tobacco logo for the Australian Grand Prix, Motorsport.com reported.

Earlier this year, McLaren teamed up with BAT through its "A Better Tomorrow" agenda. The tie-up was "focused solely on BAT's potentially reduced risk products and grounded in technology and innovation" rather than having any direct link to cigarette promotion.

Now McLaren has removed BAT's logos for the upcoming Australian Grand Prix after the company decided not to run the risk of conflict with the country's strict anti-tobacco advertising legislation, the report said.

According to the report, the “A Better Tomorrow” logos will come back for the next race in Bahrain, when Ferrari will also return to use the “Mission Minnow” branding.
